Meet Ola Mattsson
Ola Mattsson is a key figure at Lokale og Anlægsfonden, Denmark’s leading foundation supporting innovative public spaces and community infrastructure. With a focus on user participation, architecture and functionality, Ola has played a pivotal role in developing creative solutions throughout Denmark that enhance sports, culture and leisure facilities. His work is dedicated to improving the quality of public spaces and fostering sustainable, inclusive communities through innovative urban design.

Meet Benjamin Billet
Benjamin Billet leads the International Unit at the CREPS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes – European Outdoor sports centre. His role combines applied-policy-work, programme development, network coordination both at national and European level. He previously served as a policy officer at the National Resource Centre for Outdoor Sports. Benjamin’s career has been defined by his passion for outdoor sports, from training professionals in the field to engaging in programme development and policy work in the field of sports, youth and democracy education in both France and Sweden. He served as Outdoor Sports Policy Advisor for the Stockholm County Council until 2019 and is currently involved in the European Network of Outdoor sports (ENOS).

Meet Arno Hermans
Arno is an urban planning and traffic management engineer with a deep passion for sports. He combines these two worlds through his work in initiating and developing innovative concepts, products and services. Recently, he launched the European Sports and Wellbeing Alliance for Municipalities (ESWAM), fostering cross-border collaboration on cross sectoral thinking, (sports) facilities, participation and public space across Europe. Arno’s expertise lies in connecting technology, infrastructure and sports to create vibrant and active communities. Basically, a true pioneer and sports futurist with his motto: inspiration through involvement. Currently he represents The Netherlands on sports and innovation at the European Commission.

Lokale og Anlægsfonden is at the forefront of transforming sports infrastructure in Denmark by combining user participation, innovative architecture, and functionality. A great example is the Sønder Nissum Hallen, a multifunctional sports hall where local residents collaborated to create a facility that meets the needs of both athletes and the wider community. Similarly, the Springcenter Aarhus is a state-of-the-art gymnastics center designed with input from users, featuring flexible spaces for recreational and professional gymnastics. These projects not only encourage active lifestyles but also demonstrate how user-driven design can create sustainable, community-centered sports facilities.

BICYCLE: park your bike in front of the Sports+Vitality Hub Breda at Bond Bergschot. You can also rent an OV-fiets at Breda Central Station (check availability), and cycle for 10 minutes.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT: busline 7 runs every 30 minutes between Breda Central Station and busstop Bergschot and brings you within 20 minutes to your destination.

CAR: the Sports+Vitality Hub Breda has a large parking facility. We suggest you to carpool for a minimised footprint.
